Whale

Quick definition

An entity holding enough crypto to move the market with a single trade.

Whales are the largest holders โ€” early adopters, funds, exchanges, corporations. When a whale buys or sells, thin order books can swing noticeably, and on-chain watchers track big wallet movements as sentiment clues.

'Whale watching' is popular but noisy: a large transfer to an exchange might mean selling โ€” or just custody reshuffling. Treat whale alerts as context, not signals.
