Address (Wallet Address)

Quick definition

A string of letters and numbers that works like an account number โ€” share it to receive Bitcoin.

A Bitcoin address is what you give someone so they can send you Bitcoin, similar to sharing a bank account number. It's derived from your keys, and sharing it is safe โ€” an address can only receive funds, never spend them.

Always copy-paste addresses instead of typing them, and double-check the first and last characters before sending: blockchain transactions can't be reversed if you send to the wrong address.
