All-Time High (ATH)

ATH marks the record price in an asset's entire history. When Bitcoin 'breaks its ATH,' it's trading higher than ever before.

ATHs attract media attention and FOMO buying, which is exactly when beginners tend to buy emotionally at tops. The opposite is the all-time low (ATL). Knowing where price sits relative to ATH gives quick context, but it doesn't predict what happens next.
