Bear Market
Quick definition
A prolonged period of falling prices and pessimism.
A bear market is an extended downturn โ prices trend lower, news turns negative, and many investors give up. In crypto, bear markets have historically lasted a year or more with drawdowns of 70-80% from the peak.
The danger is panic-selling at the bottom. The counterpart is a bull market. Long-term investors often treat bear markets as accumulation periods, but nobody can call the exact bottom.
