Liquidity

High liquidity means lots of buyers and sellers, so large orders execute close to the quoted price. Bitcoin on major exchanges is highly liquid; a tiny altcoin may not be.

Low liquidity brings slippage — your order moves the price against you — and makes manipulation easier. It's one reason beginners are steered toward large, established markets.
